I am interested in thinking about poetic form, thought, and feeling through 18th- and 19th-century discussions of aesthetics, emotion, and imagination. I often ask questions about the ways in which Romantic and Victorian poems act as social objects mediating aesthetic encounters and contain insights regarding how beauty is positioned, approached, understood, and socialized in everyday life in the long 19th century and the present.
